Sareb assigns nine homes to be let as affordable housing to the San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid) City Hall

Sareb will assign nine homes to the San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid) City Hall to be let as affordable housing. As established in the agreement signed by Rubén Holguera Gozalo, the CEO of the San Sebastián de los Reyes company Empresa Municipal de Suelo y Vivienda (EMSV) and Sareb’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Director, Gaspar González-Palenzuela. This is the third agreement signed by the company with a City Hall, following on from those signed with Madrid and Barcelona, and adds to the nine signed with regional governments.

The agreement establishes that EMSV will manage the transferred homes for five years, thereby helping to address its need for more affordable housing. In exchange for assigning these properties, Sareb will receive monthly compensation of 75 euros for the occupied homes and 125 euros for vacant homes. In doing so, Sareb will then cover costs such as damage insurance, public liability and service charges amongst others. EMSV will be responsible for obtaining the energy efficiency certificates, if the properties do not already have them, paying the standard maintenance and repair costs for the homes and providing technical assistance to the tenant, among others.

Sareb has offered a total of 4,000 homes to autonomous regions and large city halls, so that they can be used as part of their social welfare programmes. To date, the company has assigned over 2,264 homes, meaning that almost 7,850 people benefit from Sareb’s affordable housing to let assignment plans.
