Sareb, piece by piece
‘Sareb: Piece by Piece’ is a documentary that tells the story of Sareb, the asset management company that was created to help clean up the Spanish finance and real estate market. It is commonly referred to as the bad bank, and has a fixed term (ending in 2027) in which to carry out its management programme. Sareb is entrusted with managing and disposing of the real estate assets (developer loans and properties) that were transferred to it from the banks that received State aid in 2012 during Spain’s financial crisis. The documentary recounts the first five years of Sareb’s activity, from its challenging early days through to what the company has achieved to date.
