Sareb opens the regional office for Catalonia, Aragon and the Balearic Islands

The Management Company for Assets Arising from the Banking Sector Reorganisation (Sareb) has announced the appointment of Marijo Pérez and Antonio Ballesta as representatives for the Catalonia, Aragon and Balearic Island regions. By doing this, the company further consolidates the regional network that it is creating in order to drive sales and enhance its first-hand knowledge of the assets in its portfolio. Currently, Sareb has representatives for the Madrid Centre-Canary Islands area and the region of Valencia-Murcia area.

The new regional team boasts tried and tested experience in the real estate market. Marijo Pérez  joins Sareb from Alting Inmobiliaria, where she moved to after holding various positions in Iberdrola Inmobiliaria, Grupo Lar and Louvre-Starwood. Antonio Ballesta joins from Neinor Homes and has previously worked in Solvia, Copcisa and inmobiliaria Colonial, amongst others.

The new structure is in line with Sareb’s target to improve its knowledge of the local market. Aragon, the Balearic Islands and Catalonia are priority areas for the company’s business, accounting for 27.9% of the value of its property portfolio and 17.6% of its loan portfolio. Last year, the Sareb-owned properties sold in these three areas, accounted for 21.8% of the company’s total sales volume.

Francisco Guitart Carmona, Director of Regional Coordination officially introduced Marijo Pérez and Antonio Ballesta today at a conference organised for the Catalan development sector in order to present Sareb’s new product range for its loan platform to professional investors.

The new product range for sale via this platform includes a total of €1,800 million in loans secured by properties located all over Spain. In this new product range – aimed at mid-sized professional investors, developers and real estate brokers – the average value of the loans is €9.3 million.
